Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 September 2026
These terms cover your use of Promty, the macOS app. By downloading or using Promty, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
What Promty is
Promty is a macOS menu-bar app that records your voice, transcribes it, and rewrites it into a clean prompt — entirely on your Mac. It requires macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon (M1 or newer); it does not run on Intel Macs.
License
Promty is currently free to download and use during its beta period, with no account or credit card required. You're granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control. You may not resell, redistribute, reverse engineer, or sublicense the app.
Your content
Everything Promty processes — your voice, transcripts, and generated prompts — stays on your device and is yours. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail on what Promty does and doesn't do with your data (in short: nothing leaves your Mac).
No warranty
Promty is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Speech transcription and AI-generated rewrites can be inaccurate or incomplete — always review a prompt before you rely on it for anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Promty and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes
Promty is under active development. Features, requirements, and these terms may change as the app evolves; material changes will be reflected here with an updated date at the top of this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.
